How to Invert Colors on CUR Files

Mouse cursor images are commonly indicated by the CUR file extension. To change the appearance of the cursor file, you can invert, or reverse, the colors. To invert the colors, you need photo- or image-editing software. The Microsoft Windows operating system comes preinstalled with the Paint application that allows you to invert colors on CUR files.

      Click “Start,” “All Programs” and “Paint” to launch the program.

      Click “File” and “Open” from the Paint window. Select the CUR file of choice and click “Open.”

      Click “Image” and “Invert Colors” from the Paint menu.

      Click “File” and “Save.”

      Select “GIF” as the file type in the Save dialog box, then click “Save.”

      Locate the GIF file on your computer. Right-click, select “Rename” and add the extension ".CUR" to your file.
