- Measuring tape or ruler
- White crown molding
- Hot glue
- Fine-grit sandpaper

Purchase a plain, unframed chalkboard in a size that suits your needs. Measure each of the sides of the chalkboard.

Cut two lengths of white crown molding that equal the size of the sides of the chalkboard. Measure the width of the molding and double it. Add the doubled length of the molding to the length of the top and bottom of the chalkboard. Cut two lengths of white crown molding that are equal to the dimensions. For example, if the top and bottom of the chalkboard are 8 inches long and the molding is 2 inches wide, cut two lengths of crown molding that are 12 inches long.

Run a bead of hot glue along the top of the sides of the chalkboard. Affix the molding onto the sides of the chalkboard.

Apply hot glue onto the surface of the top and bottom of the chalkboard. Press the molding onto the top and bottom of the chalkboard. The molding should be positioned so that the ends meet the ends of the molding on the sides of the chalkboard.

Rub fine-grit sandpaper along the surface of the molding to remove some of the paint.
