How to Create a Vertical Drop Down Menu in Flash CS5
The Adobe Flash and Dreamweaver set of applications let you create websites in the Flash language using the Dreamweaver design software. The software includes a wizard that creates vertical drop-down menus, so you can add navigation on your website without creating any code. Vertical menu setup is found in the Dreamweaver "Insert" menu item.

Open the Dreamweaver software from the Windows "Adobe" program group. Open your Web project and the file you want to use to display the menu.

Click the section of the page in which you want to place the menu. Click the "Insert" menu item and select "Spry Menu Bar." Select "Vertical" for your menu type and select the number of items you want to add into the drop-down menu. Click "OK," and the software automatically draws the menu items on the page.

Click the first menu item labeled "Item 1." The properties panel activates. You use this panel to set up the items and layout for the menu.

Type the name for the top-level menu item in the "Text" text box. Type a link for the menu item in the "Link" text box. If you want to change the font and colors, use the "Font" and "Background Color" and "Forecolor" property to change the menu colors.

Repeat these steps for each menu item. Save the changes, and open the file in your Web browser to test the menu.
