How to Do Brow Makeup in Gel & Pencil
Some women are fanatical about manicuring and enhancing their eyebrows, and they have every right to be. Eyebrows do more to set the proportions and balance of a woman's face than any other feature. Even after plucking or waxing, most ladies prefer to strengthen or fill their eyebrows with color to create an overall shape that is the appropriate size and color intensity. You can fill your eyebrows with gel or pencil to achieve your ideal shape. Does this Spark an idea?

Preparing the Eyebrow Area
-
1
Scrub your eyebrow area with facial soap whenever you wash your face to remove the skin that builds up in the area. Flakes of dead skin shed from that area just like they do on the rest of your face. However, they may not wash away easily because your eyebrows trap them between fine hairs.
-
2
Complete the rest of your daily skincare regimen. Conclude the regimen by applying moisturizer to your entire face. Rub moisturizer into your eyebrows to make sure the area is hydrated sufficiently.
-
-
3
Smooth your eyebrows with an eyebrow comb to straighten the fine hairs.
-
4
Pluck any stray hairs with tweezers to clean up the area. Ignore unruly hairs within your eyebrows. Limit removal to out-of-place hairs.
Applying Eyebrow Gel
-
5
Dip the eyebrow gel wand into the gel to coat the bristles. The product should not look thick or clumpy on the wand.
-
6
Hold the wand over the wide, interior end of your brow. Position the bristled wand perpendicular to the overall direction of your eyebrow.
-
7
Press the wand to your eyebrow. Move the wand in a slight arch through your brow. Follow the eyebrow's natural shape.
-
8
Dip the wand into the gel to make touch-ups. Press the bristled tip lightly against any area of your eyebrow where the hairs remain unruly. Correct those spots with a light second application of gel.
Applying Eyebrow Pencil
-
9
Sharpen an eyebrow pencil in a makeup pencil sharpener until it has a sharp point. The makeup itself is too soft to hurt your skin no matter how sharp you make the point.
-
10
Locate spots within the eyebrow that have sparse hair and look less full than the rest of the brow.
-
11
Place the tip of the pencil in the sparse spot. Make a light pencil stroke that is the same length as the nearby hairs. Follow the direction of the nearby hairs as you draw the line.
-
12
Fill all of the sparse areas throughout the brow. Extend the narrow, outer end of the eyebrow if it does not extend as far as the outer corner of your eye.
-
13
Brush through your eyebrow with a bristled brush, like a mascara wand without mascara on it, to blend the pencil marks.

Tips & Warnings
Test eyebrow products on your eyebrow area rather than the back of your hand to ensure you purchase the appropriate color.
