Instructions

    • 1

Remove all the furniture and anything on the floor in the room.

    • 2

Lay out the golf carpet across the entire room. Attach each corner of the carpet using tackless strips underneath the carpet. This will prevent damage to your flooring.

    • 3

Set up a strip of painter's tape 1-foot in on the vertical length of the rug. Run the tape from end to end of the rug. Measure 2 inches inward from the edge of the tape and add another strip of painter's tape. Repeat this on the other side to create the field's sideline areas.

    • 4

Spray paint the open green areas between the tape with white paint. Apply two coats until no green can be seen; the second after the first has dried. These represent the "out of bounds" lines on the field.

    • 5

Remove the painter's tape. Apply two pieces of tape for every 6 inches of carpet horizontally down the field. Leave 1-inch space between the two pieces of tape. This will create the yardage lines for the field.

    • 6

Lay out painter's tape to form yardage numbers at each line. Go upwards from "10," "20," "30" and so on. Once you reach "50," count down again until you get to "10." Apply two coats of white paint to each number.

    • 7

Paint in between each of the pieces of tape with white spray paint. Coat the areas twice and remove the tape once the paint dries.

    • 8

Apply spray paint sealer to all the white sections of the carpet. This will protect the paint from peeling or scrapping off.

    • 9

Add an NFL or NCCA team rug into each end zone of the football field. Use your child's favorite football team.

Create the field goal shape with pool noodles.
Create the field goal shape with pool noodles.

Form two field goal posts using pool noodles. Cut two noodles in half and then shape out the up rights.

    • 11

Use double-sided wall tape to secure the pool noodles to the wall and form the posts. Position the noodles in the center of the field.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use stadium wall decals or painted murals of an audience on every wall. This will complete the stadium feel of a true NFL or NCAA football field.
