Instructions

    • 1

Select battery-operated LED lights for your wedding centerpieces. These lights should be small, but produce enough light to illuminate the entire centerpiece. Choose lights that are waterproof if you plan on placing them in any type of fluid and make sure they will fit inside the bowl or vase you are using as the base of your centerpiece. You can purchase these lights at a craft or hobby store.

    • 2

Fill a clear bowl or vase with clear beads, marbles or gems or pour water in the container. Place the LED light into the container, burying it well inside the objects to help conceal the light. The light should filter through the clear objects, illuminating the entire bowl or vase from the inside.

    • 3

Place the filled centerpiece on a small mirror. The mirror will reflect light upward from the base of the bowl, making the centerpiece brighter. You can choose any shape of mirror you like, as long as the base of the vase fits on the mirror's surface and a two-inch radius surrounding the base exists for the light to bounce off.

    • 4

Tuck flowers, sticks or other objects into the bowl or vase to add style to your centerpiece. Float flowers on top of water to give a colored glow and add some motion to the centerpiece, or tuck long flowers or sticks into the bowl full of beads to add height to the piece.

Tips & Warnings

  • Select a light in one of your wedding colors to incorporate the color theme into the centerpieces. If the LED lights are not available in your wedding colors, you can use white lights and incorporate your wedding colors into the centerpieces by using flowers, ribbon or other decorations.

  • Don't use any LED lights that are non-submersible in water or any other fluids. Placing the other types of lights in liquid could lead to a short or an injury.
