EBT PA: How to Use an EBT Pennsylvania Cash Assistance Card

The Pennsylvania EBT Access card enables authorized public assistance recipients to receive food, Medicaid and cash benefits from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. The EBT Access card resembles and operates in a similar fashion as a generic debit or credit card. Step 1

Examine the front of the card and confirm that your name is spelled correctly.

Remove any protective material covering or stickers from the card. Write your full name within the "Signature" box on the back of the EBT card.

Call 1-888-328-7366 to set the personal PIN for your EBT card, if you did not set a personal PIN at a local County Assistance Office, shortly after receiving the card. Do not keep your personal PIN with your card or in your wallet; consider keeping the PIN in a separate location, such as a filing cabinet or safe.

Navigate to the JPMorganChase EBT Account website and click on the "Click Here To Register" link. The EBT Account website will allow you to check the balance on the card and review account activity.

Read the "EBT Account Terms and Conditions" page and hit the "Accept" button when finished.

Step 6

Enter the 19-digit EBT card number and your personal PIN into the appropriate fields on the Web page. Follow the registration prompts and log in to the system, using your new user ID and password.

Step 7

Choose the "Account Summary" option from the drop-down box, located below the login fields. Log out of your account and exit the Web page when finished.

Step 8

Travel to a local ATM and insert the EBT card as directed on the machine. Follow the on-screen prompts and choose the "Checking" account option. Enter your personal PIN and dollar amount you wish to withdrawal; certain ATMs may impose a surcharge for using the service.

Step 9

Confirm the transaction and choose "Yes" or "No" when asked to print a receipt. Collect the cash from the dispensing area of the ATM and retrieve the EBT card to finish the process.
