How to Add Nero to BartPE
Bart's Preinstalled Environment, or BartPE, allows you to create a boot disc on a CD that boots into a Windows XP environment. BartPE comes with plug-ins that facilitate the installation of applications that you may wish to use when a system is running BartPE. One of the most popular of these applications is Nero Burning Rom -- software commonly used to burn CDs. Add Nero to your BartPE disc via the plug-ins section of the main BartPE menu.
Instructions
-
-
1
Copy your "Nero Burning Rom" installation files to the following directory:
C:\pebuilder\plugin\nero burning rom\files
Also copy the "shfolder.dll" and "quartz.dll" files to this directory. These two .dll files are located in your Windows System32 folder.
-
2
Click the "Plugins" button from the main BartPE window and click "Nero Burning Rom" in the list of available plug-ins.
-
-
3
Click the "Edit" button to load the configuration file for the plug-in. Remove any semicolons (;) that correspond to your version of Nero in the config file.
-
4
Replace the "Name," "Company" and "Serial Number" lines with the correct information registered to your copy of Nero. This ensures that you do not need to enter this information every time you launch Nero.
-
5
Add a semicolon before the following line:
files\*.prf=a,,1
It should therefore read:
;files\*.prf=a,,1
-
6
Click "Save" to save the changes you made in the configuration file.
-
7
Click "Nero Burning Rom" and click the "Enable" button to include the application with your BartPE disc. Complete any other steps in the BartPE process before finalizing your disc.

Tips & Warnings
It is recommended that you use Nero version 6, as the BartPE Nero plug-in is optimized for this version.
Only copy the Nero Burning Rom installation files in Step 1 -- not any files that Nero may have bundled with the software.
Installing Nero on a BartPE disc will prove useless if the computer you boot with the disc does not have two CD-ROM drives. The BartPE disc needs to be in the drive when Nero is run -- leaving you with no drive to burn a new CD.
