Drink plenty of water and stay completely hydrated. Chapped lips can occur simply from being dehydrated.

Stop smoking. Smoking irritates the lip area and causes dryness.

Apply an all-natural emollient like beeswax, shea butter, cocoa butter, olive oil, avocado oil, almond oil or vitamin E. All of these are natural and help promote rehydrating and moisturizing of the lip area.

Apply a sunscreen over the natural emollient. This helps prevent further damage or sunburn, which can cause chapped lips.

Use a humidifier to keep moisture in the air or keep a pot of water boiling on the stove, which produces the same results.
