How to Make a Toothguard for a Handsaw

Protect the teeth on your saw blades with this tricky idea.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Measure the length of the toothed side of the saw blade.

  2. Step 2

    Cut a piece of garden hose about an inch longer than the blade measurement.

  3. Step 3

    Slit the hose in a straight line down its entire length. A carpet knife is great for this.

  4. Step 4

    Slide the hose over the blade.

  5. Step 5

    Voila!
