How to Do Black, Silver & Grey Eyeshadow
Create a subtle smokey eye using a trio of coordinating eyeshadow. A light, slightly metallic silver color serves as a highlighter to make eyes look more awake and larger. A deep grey with a shimmer draws focus to the lid and thus the eyes. A matte black defines the crease and adds to the drama of the look. Use an eyeshadow primer to increase the staying power of the eyeshadow and to prevent it from creasing with wear time. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Apply an eyeshadow primer across the entire lid and up to the brow bone. Use a small eyeliner brush to apply silver eyeshadow to the inner corner of the eye. Form a sideways "V" shape that starts on the upper eyelid, passes around the tear duct and ends on the lower lash line. Dip the brush back into the silver and apply a small amount as highlighter under the arch of the brow bone.

2
Apply grey eyeshadow with an eyeshadow brush across the entire lid of the eye, blending the start of the grey with the end of the silver. Apply more grey shadow up through the crease of the eye and up under the silver near the brow bone.

3
Use an angled eyeshadow brush and black eyeshadow to define the crease of the eye. Blend the black into the grey at the crease, working in sweeping motions to add depth but to soften the color of the black.

4
Dip the small eyeliner brush into the black and use it to define the outer corner of the lower lash line, working inwards until it meets the silver. Use the brush to blend out the meeting point of the two colors.

5
Use a blending eyeshadow brush to soften any stark edges that may remain in the eyeshadow look. Note that the shades should change seamlessly into one another.
