Cleaning the kettle is very simple if you harness the cleaning power of citric acid. Lemons are inexpensive and all natural, allowing you to thoroughly clean the kettle without using a chemical laced cleaner.

Things You'll Need

• Fresh lemon
• Scrubber
• Stiff cleaning brush
• Soft cloth

Instructions

1. Cut a fresh lemon into multiple slices and place in the bottom of the electric kettle.

2. Pour enough water in the kettle to cover the lemons by an inch.

3. Run the electric kettle with the lemons inside. The boiling lemon water will break down any water deposits or stains.

4. Pour the lemons and water out of the kettle and wait until the inside of the kettle is cool enough to touch.

5. Scrub the bottom of the kettle using a stiff cleaning brush to remove any leftover build-up.

6. Rinse the electric kettle thoroughly with cool water. Dry with a soft cloth.
