How to Get a WWE Wrestling Job

Prepare to put your strength on display as a pro wrestler.

WWE Superstars like CM Punk, Triple H, and John Cena leave aspiring athletes and entertainers wondering how to make that climb to the top as a career wrestler. Not everyone can become a superstar, but many of the premier wrestlers share a few common traits. Superior athletic ability, star quality and professional connections are your ticket in.

Instructions

1. Get adequate sleep, exercise, and eat a nutritious diet, as any top-level athlete must. A healthy body is key.

2. 

   Training helps reduce your chance of injury.

   Learn the basics of wrestling. Athletic training is vital for a professional wrestling career. If you're in high school or college, join your school's wrestling team in order to learn basic moves, strategies, rules, strength and endurance techniques and proper sportsmanship. Specialized wrestling schools and training centers are available for advanced training and conditioning.

3. Develop your individual persona. Wrestling superstars are extroverts who take on the role of a specific character. To hone your acting ability, enroll in community theater or stand-up comedy classes. Hire an acting coach if you desire one-on-one instruction. Research current characters in professional wrestling and concoct your own dramatic persona that's entertaining and one-of-a-kind.

4. Get wrestling experience. Wrestle in a competitive league or sports club for seasoning and exposure. Seek out leagues that have been the proving grounds for current wrestling pros.

5. Develop your contacts. Check the WWE website for open casting calls and make an appearance. Contact agents who represent wrestlers and invite them to a match or send them a press kit that contains video footage of your wrestling prowess along with a head shot and a cover letter. If an agent comes to your event or receives your press kit, follow up to advance your potential relationship and gain valuable feedback about how you can improve in the future.
