An iPod Touch can be a great device for all age groups, provided it stays dry.

Many electronic Apple products now come with water sensors that indicate when moisture has been detected inside the device. If you have gotten an iPod Touch drenched and the water sensor has gone off, then you will need to dry it as soon as possible to prevent any damage to the inner electronics. Fortunately, there is a time tested method for removing water from the inside of drenched electronic devices.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the battery from the iPod Touch. This should be done as quickly as possible to prevent damage.

    • 2

Wipe down the iPod Touch with the towel to remove any water on the device. Do the same for the battery.

    • 3

Place the iPod Touch and the battery in the zipper-seal storage bag. Fill the bag up with rice and close the bag. The rice will act as a desiccant, removing water from the air and the iPod Touch as well.

    • 4

Leave the iPod Touch in the sealed bag with the rice for 48 hours. Place it in a sunny spot to help the process.

    • 5

Remove the iPod Touch from the bag after 48 hours and replace the battery. Test it to see if it is working, and check if the water sensor indicates no more moisture present.
