Keeping a wedding ring clean and shiny keeps it looking new. A wedding ring is much more than a piece of jewelry. It is a symbol of never-ending love, given as a promise from one person to another. Many people never take off this symbol, even during cleaning and daily tasks. The amount of wear and tear often leads to a dirty ring. Sending out for professional cleaning can become costly. Things You'll Need
- Ammonia
- Dish soap (without bleach)
- Toothbrush
- Bowl
- Clean terrycloth towel

Mix 1/4 cup of household-grade ammonia to 1 cup of warm water.

Soak the wedding rings in the liquid mixture for 20 to 30 minutes.

Mix two or three drops of regular dish-washing soap in a cup of warm water and stir well. Allow the suds to die down.

Transfer the rings from the ammonia solution into the dish soap solution. Allow to sit for several minutes.

Scrub the rings with a soft toothbrush. Use the soapy water on the brush to gently wash all areas of the rings.

Rinse with warm water and dry with a terrycloth towel.

Tips & Warnings
Wash wedding rings on a regular basis. This prevents tough buildup from forming.
Ammonia reacts with bleach, causing harmful fumes. Be sure the dish soap does not contain bleach. Use gloves when working with ammonia to protect the skin.
