How to Get Invisible Ink Off of the Skin

Invisible ink’s tendency to disappear when dry makes it an ideal choice for playing pranks and conveying secret messages. However, invisible ink can also leave a stubborn stain that is easily forgotten – unless you happen to pass near ultraviolet light. When trying to remove invisible ink marks from your hand, you can use the same methods that dissolve normal ink stains.

Instructions

1. Place your hands near a black light to confirm the locations of the invisible ink marks.

2. Rinse your hands in a diluted solution of bleach and water. Afterward, rinse the solution off with plain water.

3. Spray hairspray on the marks. The alcohol in the hairspray will help dissolve the ink. Gently scrub the spray and ink off your hands with a cloth.

4. Apply an abrasive mix of sugar and dish washing liquid to your hand. Scrub until the ink is gone and rinse the mixture off your hand.

5. Dip a cotton swab in nail polish remover. Apply the product to the ink stains and allow it to sit for several seconds before washing it off with water. Nail polish remover also contains alcohol that will aid in ink removal.

6. Apply lotion to moisturize your hands after you’re finished. The cleaning agents can lead to dry skin, especially when used in combination with each other.

Tips & Warnings

• Products such as bleach may agitate sensitive skin and leave a strong scent on your hands. Test it on a small area before applying it to your entire hand.
