Instructions

    • 1

Pre-string 120 beads onto the silk cord. Thread the cord through the needle, and then draw it through each bead. Coil the beaded cord into a basket or bowl.

    • 2

Make the button loop. Leave a 12-inch tail, and chain 12. Join the 12 stitches into a ring, using a slip stitch. Chain one. Work 24 single crochets into the ring around its edge. Join with a slip stitch to the beginning of the round. Chain three.

    • 3

Make a bead cluster. Do this by moving one bead up to the hook. Then yarn over, and pull the thread through the loop on the hook, securing the bead.

    • 4

Chain three. Move another bead up to the hook, and repeat the instructions for Step 3. Chain three. Continue in this manner until you have all 120 pre-strung beads secured to the crochet chain. Pull the thread end through the last loop.

    • 5

Sew a button onto the end of the chain, that fits the button loop made at the beginning. Darn in any tails of silk thread, and then soak the necklace in a bowl of warm water for 20 minutes. Remove and blot dry with a towel. Lay the necklace on an ironing board, so that the beads are all facing the same way. Pin and let dry.
