How to Bedazzle a Tennis Shoe

Practice on old shoes to test your Bedazzler's alignment and puncturing power.

The Bedazzler is a craft tool used to embellish clothing and accessories by attaching rhinestones and other decorative studs. You can use a Bedazzler to decorate a pair of canvas or cloth shoes with a pattern of studs. When designing your embellishment, first test to see how far into your shoe the stapler-shaped Bedazzler can reach. Depending on your shoe size, you may not be able to apply designs to the toe area. The Bedazzler may also have difficulty attaching studs to thicker parts of the shoe, such as a reinforced heel.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw pencil dots on your shoes, to lay out the design you want to create.

    • 2

Put in the appropriate Bedazzler tip for the size of stone you want to use. For size SS16 stones, use the tip marked 20. For size SS30, use tip 30. For size SS34, use tip 34. For SS40, use tip 40.

    • 3

Load a stone into the upper arm on the Bedazzler, gem side up. Line up the stone with one of the dots in your pattern.

    • 4

Close the Bedazzler like a stapler, applying enough pressure to attach the stone firmly. Repeat to apply a stone to each dot in the pattern.
