ICalendar ICS files can contain multiple calendar events.

ICalendar files with the ICS file extension contain event information that you can import into a desktop calendar application. Importing the ICS file adds the events inside of it to your personal calendar. Windows XP doesn’t come with an integrated calendar application, but you can import iCal files into a desktop calendar application such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird with the Lightning add-on as well as Web applications such as Google Calendar.

Instructions

    • 1

Import iCalendar ICS files into your Microsoft Outlook calendar. Click the “File” menu in Outlook, click “Open” in the menu and click “Import.” Select “Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar (.vcf) File” in the list, click “Next,” browse to the ICS file and double-click it. Click “Import” to add the events inside it to your current calendar or click “Open as New” to add the ICS file as a new, separate calendar.
