How to Cover Bleach Spots on Black Pants
White clothes benefit from being laundered with bleach, but sometimes bleach accidentally makes its way onto colored and black clothing. There are a couple of ways to salvage your pants at home with specialty items for this kind of problem. Avoid spending money on a new pair of pants and do it yourself for only a few dollars. Things You'll Need
- Fabric marker
- Rubber gloves
- Bucket
- Fabric dye
- Newspaper
- Garbage bag
- Cotton balls or swabs
- Dry cloth
- Iron

Rinse the bleach out of the fabric and dry the clothes item.

Use a black fabric marker to cover the bleach spots. Go over the spot a few times.

Let the area dry, then repeat the procedure.
Dye

Spot dye the pants. Put on a pair of rubber gloves and empty 1/2 cup hot water into a small bucket with 1 teaspoon of fabric powder dye. Stir the dye around until it dissolves in the water.

Lay down some old newspaper or a small garbage bag on a flat surface. Dip a cotton ball, swab or an old cloth into the dye mix.

Rub the dye onto each of the bleach spots and let it sit for about 20 minutes. To set the dye quicker, run a hot iron over the spots a few times.

Turn the pants inside out and wash them in your washing machine with cold water and a mild detergent. Hang the pants to dry.
