How to Draw Numbers in Flash

With Adobe Flash, you can get a more creative than usual with numerical characters. Use Flash tools to add decorative elements to your animation frames by drawing numbers. Try a stylistic serif-style number or something cartoonish with the palette of tools in Flash.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Flash and open a new or existing document.

    • 2

Drag the timeline indicator above the stage to the desired frame for where you want the numbers. In a new Flash document, you may leave the timeline on Frame 1.

    • 3

Click the paintbrush icon in the Tools section. Double-click the small colored square under the word “Colors” and select the color for the first number.

    • 4

Click the second-from-the-bottom menu on the Tools pane. Select a thickness to draw with the paintbrush tool. The lower the dot, the thicker your number lines will be.

    • 5

Position the cursor on the stage. Draw the number. For straight lines within your numbers, such as with the main portion of the number “1,” press and hold the Shift key while drawing a vertical line.
