How to Make a Handmade Get-Well Card
A handmade get-well card is the perfect way to express your condolences and good wishes to a friend or family member dealing with an illness or injury. Your card can express a unique sentiment, showing the person that you care deeply and offering your best wishes for a speedy recovery. Consider the recipient of your card to decide whether they'd appreciate a serious sympathetic card, a light-hearted funny card or a classic and simple get-well card. Whichever type of card you choose to make, keep it meaningful and caring.

1
Design your card on a scrap piece of paper and gather any art supplies you need to bring it to life. Consider how you want your card to fold, what sort of design you want on the front and where your text should go. Create a clear, open work space with all your art supplies at hand.
-
2
Choose a piece of card stock that is big enough for your design. Fold the card stock in half by lining up the opposite top and bottom corners, then pressing down along the folded edge. Crease the fold by running your fingers firmly along the edge.

3
Design the front of your card using markers, colored pencils or stickers. Consider putting text on the front, saying "Get Well Soon!" or "Hopes for a Speedy Recovery!" or "Feel Better!" You can also draw a picture that expresses your sympathies, such as a bouquet of flowers, balloons or a smiley face.
-
4
Write your message on the inside of the card. Some ideas for text include "My sincerest wishes for a speedy recovery," "With all my sympathies and hope for a quick recovery" and "I hope you get better soon!" Personalize your message. If you know the person from work, you can write "Get well soon -- we all miss you here!" Alternatively, if the card is for a close friend or family member, write something that expresses your love and concern.

5
Put any finishing touches on your card, such as embellishing the art on the front, adding a design to the inside or drawing a small picture on the back. Sign your name on the inside and find an appropriately sized envelope.
