How to Connect Two Computers to Time Warner Cable High Speed Cable Online
Connecting two computers to the Time Warner Cable high speed Internet service requires the use of a router. Routers come in different varieties, each with their own set of capabilities. With a router connected to the Time Warner Cable Internet service, two or more computers can access the Internet simultaneously. Most routers designed for home networking include wireless capabilities, as well as allowing a direct connection to the router with an Ethernet cable.

Disconnect the power from your Time Warner Cable modem, if it is powered on.

Connect an Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port on the cable modem to the Internet or WAN port on the router.

Power on the cable modem and wait 60 seconds for it to synchronize.

Power on the router and wait 30 seconds for it to initialize.

Connect both computers to the router. If using a direct Ethernet connection, connect an Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port on the computer to one of the LAN ports on the router. If the computer and router have wireless capabilities, no Ethernet cable is needed.

Tips & Warnings
When your cable modem is powered on, it maintains a record of the Media Access Control, or MAC, address of the device connected to it when it is first powered on. The cable modem does not expect this device to change, which is why it must be powered off when connecting a new device, so that the cable modem can refresh its MAC address table.
