How to Install Files on the iPhone With WinSCP
Jailbroken iPhones come with the option of using SSH File Transfer Protocol clients to transfer and install files on your iPhones. This type of connection allows you to put files from your computer onto your iPhone such as themes and ROMs. Your factory iPhone comes with a locked file system. SFTP clients such as WinSCP require a jailbroken iPhone. Jailbreaking is the only method to unlock the file system on your iPhone.

1
Open the "Wi-Fi" screen in the Settings application on your iPhone. Tap the blue arrow next to your active Wi-Fi connection. Leave this screen open on your iPhone for the duration of your WinSCP session. Leaving this screen disrupts the WinSCP session. You need to log back into WinSCP to continue transferring and installing files.

2
Start WinSCP on your personal computer. Enter your IP address from your iPhone screen into the "Host name:" box in the WinSCP login screen. Enter the word "root" into the "User name:" box. Type the word "alpine" or "dottie" into the "Password:" box. WinSCP established these words as the default username and password for WinSCP to iPhone connections.
