The F7D2301 provides both wired and wireless Internet connectivity.

The F7D2301 Belkin Wireless Surf Router provides 300 Mbps, 802.11N wireless connectivity and 10/100 Ethernet connectivity to users seeking to establish at an-home network. While the setup process is designed to be automatic, you may encounter problems in the process, such as limited Internet connectivity, the inability to log in correctly and improperly configured security settings. All these issues can be fixed via a few troubleshooting steps.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Setup CD manually if it does not manually start. Click "My Documents" on your desktop, open click on "CD-ROM" underneath "Devices With Removable Storage" and double click on the "Belkin Setup" icon.

    • 2

Make certain that the router is on if the Belkin Setup application is unable to communicate with the router during installation. If you are trying to connect wirelessly, then first try connecting your computer directly to one of the "wired" ports via an Ethernet cable.

    • 3

Ascertain that you entered the correct user name and password in case your router is unable to connect to the Internet. Some ISPs require that the user name be submitted in the following form: user_name@myisp.com.

    • 4

Check whether the cable connecting your modem to your router has been inserted into the "WAN" port on the router if you are unable to browse the Web and the light on your router is blinking. Likewise, the cable connecting your computer to the router should be inserted into one of the "LAN" ports on the router.

    • 5

Generate an encryption algorithm online if you are concerned about security issues. Log in to your router at http://router/ using your Web browser, click the "Login" button, click "Submit" to bypass the password, open the "Wireless" menu, select the "Security" tab, select the "128-bit WEP" option and click the "Generate" button. Write down the code that appears and click "Apply" to save the settings.

Tips & Warnings

  • Disable any firewalls prior to installation.

  • Reset the router by turning it off for 15 or more seconds.

  • Contact Belkin at (800)-223-5546 for additional information.
