How to Track Cell Phones With the IMEI Numbers

The IMEI number is a unique identifier used to identify your mobile devices. If you misplaced or had your phone stolen, this number can be used to track your phone. Your mobile service provider track mobile usage and activity over the network using the IMEI number. Your local police station can also track your phone through this number.

Wait to be notified by your mobile service or the police station with information on your cell phone. Your service provider can trace usage and location of your phone if the person who stole your phone continues to use the phone on the same network. Your service provider can also cancel all service to your phone using the IMEI number. Your local police station tracks all stolen goods that come and can notify if they receive a phone with an IMEI number that matches yours.
