Instructions

1. Visit yourtexasbenefits.com/ssp/SSPHome/ssphome.jsp. Click on "You Need to Login," located under "Apply for Benefits."

2. Click on "Set up Account." Type your first and last name, date of birth and your social insurance number. Indicate whether you are a male or female by clicking on the appropriate field. Type a username and password.

3. Click "Submit." Click "Login."

4. Type your username and password. Click "OK." Click "Start Application."

5. Click on the fields of the programs from which you want assistance. You can choose "Food Benefits," "Cash Help for Families," "Health Care," "Medicare Savings Programs" and "Long-Term Services."

6. Click "Save and go to Next Page." Select who is filling out the form, either "Myself or People I Live With" or "Someone Else."

7. Write your first name, middle initial, last name, suffix, sex, date of birth, Social Security number, email address, phone number, address, county, city, state and zip. Click "Save and go to Next Page."

8. Choose the interview format you prefer. Choose the number of people applying. Click "Save and go to Next Page."

11. Type your age, phone number, Social Security number, marital status and race. Click "Save and go to Next Page."

13. Fill in your possessions. Click "Save and go to Next Page."

14. Fill out the information about how much money you earn and your assets. Click "Save and go to Next Page."

15. Click "Yes" to check your answers and "No" to skip the step.
