How to Keep My Face Clear & Glowing
Getting older does not mean you are sentenced to aging skin. To the contrary, a healthy and glowing complexion depends more on your lifestyle than on your age. There are many women who look younger than their years, and this is because they have daily habits that promote a healthy complexion. The sooner these habits are implemented, the sooner you will have an enviably healthy and glowing face. Does this Spark an idea?

Clean and moisturize your skin on a daily basis. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser twice a day, preferably in the morning and in the evening. Lukewarm water is best, as hot water will dehydrate skin. Once makeup and dirt have been removed (both of which contribute to acne if not cleaned out of pores), splash your skin with cold water to seal the pores shut. Apply a moisturizer appropriate for your skin type. This will help your skin stay hydrated and supple. Once a week, exfoliate the face using a gentle scrub. Exfoliating removes dead skin and polishes the skin, causing it to look vibrant.

Eat a healthy diet and drink lots of water. Healthy and glowing skin starts on the inside. You cannot consume greasy, fried and fatty foods and expect to have an enviable complexion. To have clear skin, you must eat a balanced diet of fresh fruits, vegetables and lean proteins. Cheat days, on which you eat sweets or processed foods, should be limited. Drink enough water each day to stay hydrated. The amount of water a person should consume varies, but the general rule is that you are well hydrated if the color of your urine is pale yellow or clear. Water pushes toxins out of your system.

Avoid sunbathing. Sitting in the sun, especially during peak hours -- between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. -- causes damage to facial skin in the form of wrinkles, brown age spots and freckles. It also dries out skin, depriving it of moisture that aids in creating a dewy, fresh complexion. Generously apply sunscreen before heading outdoors and reapply it as needed. Wear a floppy hat to protect your face.

4
Do not smoke. Smoking is as destructive to facial skin as sunbathing. Avoiding smoking will not only contribute to healthier looking skin but also reduce the likelihood of being diagnosed with lung cancer.

5
Exercise frequently. One of the best ways to achieve glowing skin is by exercising at least three to four times a week. Not only does exercise release feel-good endorphins, but it also increases blood flow to the face. The increased blood flow delivers oxygen and nutrients to the skin, which is what causes healthy skin. People who routinely exercise fall asleep more easily and sleep better. Getting too little sleep -- less than seven to eight hours -- can cause your skin to prematurely age.

Tips & Warnings
Do not use facial products that contain alcohol. These will strip necessary oils from the skin and cause the skin to dry out.
