Just as there are countless styles, fabrics and textures of wedding veils, veils can also be embellished in countless ways to suit your tastes. Consider the elements featured in your wedding dress as well as what your bridesmaids will be wearing. Perhaps your wedding has some kind of theme or motif that you would like to subtly hint at with your wedding veil. Experiment with a few different ideas until you are satisfied that you have the ideal embellishments for your veil. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Thread
  • Needle
  • Scissors
  • Lace or ribbon
  • Embellishments, such as beads, pearls, sequins
  • Pins

Instructions

  1. Beads, sequins and pearls.

      Decide if you want to arrange your embellishments in a specific pattern or have them haphazardly placed.

      Cut a length of thread about the length of your arm. This length will prevent tangling.

      Thread your needle. Attach each embellishment individually.

    Lace or Ribbon

    • 4

      Cut a length or lace or ribbon that is the length of your veil.

    • 5

      Overlap the lace 1/4 inch with the edge of the of the veil. Pin the lace to the underside of the veil.

      Sew the edging in place using thread and needle. Repeat steps 1 through 3 and attach the lace or ribbon to the other side of the veil. You can also add edging along the bottom of the veil using the same method.
