How to Care for a Silk-Upholstered, Ralph Lauren Bed

Caring for a silk-upholstered bed doesn't have to be difficult.

For many, the luxury of silk has yet to be matched. A Ralph Lauren, silk-upholstered bed is the height of bedroom luxury, calling to mind the glamor days of Hollywood, European royalty and the super rich. Modern times have made owning such a bed more affordable as well as more practical; these beds are now treated to avoid staining, to allow for spot cleaning and to resist fading.

Things You'll Need

• Vacuum
• Damp cloth
• Baby shampoo

Instructions

1. Vacuum the bed gently with a clean brush attachment. Remove all dust before it has a chance to settle into the upholstery.

2. Mix lukewarm water with three to four drops of baby shampoo to create a cleaning solution. Dab any stains with a cloth dampened with the solution. Rinse with a cloth dampened with water. Blot dry with a clean cloth.

3. Avoid direct sunlight, dampness and extremes of heat or cold. The Ralph Lauren website specifies this type of care for all of their beds.
