Instructions

1
Touch “Clear/Off” and let the oven cool for one hour if an “F” error code appears on the display. Try a new cook or clean cycle and touch “Start.” Disconnect power and call Kenmore for service if the error code remains.
-
2
Verify that your Kenmore oven is plugged in if nothing on the stove top operates or the oven won’t heat up. Replace or reset the fuse or circuit breaker if necessary.
-
-
3
Use a ceramic cook top cleaning cream to clean the stove if areas of discoloration appear caused by mineral deposits.
-
4
Inspect the bottom of pots and pans, before setting cookware on the cook top, if small scratches or abrasions appear on the range's surface. Wipe away any small particles that might scratch the surface and always clean the cook top after use. Do not slide or scrape metal items, including utensils, across the cook top surface and always use a ceramic cook top cleaning cream to clean the range's surface.
-
5
Push in the control knob and turn it clockwise to the preferred setting if one of the burners does not seem to be working. Ensure the associated control knob for the specific burner is being used.
-
6
Use cookware with flat bottoms that are the approximate size for the burner if food cooks very slowly on the stove top. Turn the heat up slightly and monitor food when cooking.
-
7
Preheat the oven for 10 minutes or until the set temperature is reached before setting food in the oven if the food cooks unevenly or not as expected. Place food in the center of the oven and use the center rack when possible; do not push cookware against the vents on the sides of the oven as this blocks air flow and heat transfer.
-
8
Let the oven cool and wipe up any spills or debris in the oven if there is smoking or a burnt smell during use. Do not use aluminum foil in the oven. Run a self-clean cycle regularly for best results.
-
9
Do not preheat the oven, when broiling food, if the food burns or cooks too quickly when broiling. Use the included broiler pan and insert and leave the oven door open to the first position while broiling.
-
10
Wipe out the oven, before the self-clean process, if the oven still seems dirty after running a self-cleaning cycle. Set the oven for three hours or more of self-cleaning if the oven is very dirty.
-
11
Close the oven door and latch it by moving the latch to the right if the self-clean function will not start. If the oven door will not unlatch after cleaning, wait for the oven to cool completely and the “Lock” light to go out before trying to slide the latch to the left and open the door.
