How to Add Topix to Your Website

The news website Topix.com offers a free widget you can add to any non-commercial website to display the latest headlines for your area. Your readers can then click a link to read more of a story or see more Topix articles. Installing the widget involves inserting a readily available code in your site's HTML.

Instructions

1. Go to the Topix website you want to add to your website, such as Topix Miami or Topix New York.

2. Scroll down to "News Widget" in the sidebar, and click "Get the Topix Headlines Widget."

3. Right-click anywhere on the code, click "Select All" then right-click again and select "Copy."

4. Open your website HTML for editing, and paste the code where you want Topix to be displayed. Save and publish.

Tips & Warnings

• You can manually change the code to adjust aspects such as box width and font size. Simply replace the relevant values with new numbers; for example, change "width:300px" to "width:150px" to make the widget half the width.
