Peacock Shelf Bracket Installation

Use Peacock shelves to display your treasures.

Peacock shelves are a type of floating glass shelf, so named because the shelf appears to float in midair. Of course those shelves do not really float, and they do need solid support to display your photographs and other items. Peacock shelves can be a good choice for displaying candles, artwork, pictures and other small items, but you should not use them for very heavy items. Always check the weight capacity of your Peacock shelf before installation. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Determine the arrangement you want for the Peacock shelves, and how far apart the shelves should be. Measure the proposed distance between the shelves and for the layout, and use that to create a template for your wall. This template will help you determine exactly where to cut the grooves in the walls to support the shelves.

    • 2

Cut the grooves in the wall that you will need to hang the Peacock shelves using the wall saw. Work slowly, and check for electrical wires behind the wall before you cut. If there are electrical wires behind the area you have chosen, you may need to choose another space for your Peacock shelves.

    • 3

Hold each shelf up against the groove you have cut in the wall. Ensure that it fits properly, then apply the included adhesive to the edges of the shelves. Slide the shelves into the grooves and allow the adhesive to dry.

    • 4

Attach the brackets to the wall if your Peacock shelves came with brackets, using the supplied screws. Not all Peacock shelves come with mounting brackets. Many Peacock shelves use the true floating shelf design that makes it appear as if nothing is holding the shelf up.
