How to Fix Leaks in a GE Side by Side Freezer

General Electric side-by-side refrigerators and freezers allow refrigerator owners to have freezers that are just as long from top to bottom as the refrigerator section of the appliance, although the freezer section is more narrow.       Move your refrigerator away from the wall far enough to allow you to have access to the back of it.

      Turn the master power switch to the "Off" position. This switch is located at the top of the back of the appliance.

      Examine the connection of the house water supply tubing to the refrigerator water supply tubing. Look for leaks around this connection.

      Hand-tighten the compression nut used to connect the two water supplies if the nut is not tight. Then, tighten one additional turn with a wrench. If the nut is too tight, slightly loosen it so that the connection allows for a free flow of water.

      Flip the power switch back to "On."
