How to Make a Rave Flier in Photoshop
Whether you're stocking up on glow sticks or energy drinks, guests at your next rave dance party won't have much to "rave" about if the dance floor is empty. Get the word out by creating a flier for the event with Adobe Photoshop. While Photoshop's output won't glow in the dark like the accessories worn by attending ravers, the image-editing software is ideal for creating a get-the-word-out publication with a little extra design and flair potential.
Instructions

1
Start Adobe Photoshop. Click the "File" menu and select "New." Type "RaveFlier" into the "Name" box. Type "8.5" into the "Width" text box. Type "11" into the "Height" box. Select "inches" from the two drop-down menus and click the "OK" button to open the blank flier workspace.
-
2
Click the "T" icon on the left side of the "Tools" area. From the new toolbar at the top of the screen, choose an attention-getting font such as Balloon or Candy Bits, depending on your computer's selection. Choose a bright font and large text size. Click the top of the flier and type the rave party headline, such as "DJ Sammy Spins Next Friday Rave!"
-
-
3
Reduce the font size and change the color if desired. Type additional flier information such as age restrictions, drug and alcohol warnings, location, date and time, dress code, admission fees and the musical lineup.
-
4
Click the "File" menu and choose "Open." Browse to a crowd shot, DJ picture or other image from a previous rave or another image to use. Double-click the picture name. When it opens, click the "Select" menu. Click "All" and press the "Ctrl" and "C" keys together on the keyboard to copy the picture.
-
5
Click back to the "RaveFlier" tab and press the "Ctrl" and "V" keys to paste in the picture. Drag it into place. To reduce the size, click the "Edit" menu, click "Transform," click "Scale" and shrink the image. Due to pixilation issues, it's not advised to enlarge a photo. Using an image is optional; you can also use your club logo or party symbol.
-
6
Click the small icon of a paint bucket on the "Tools" pane. Double-click the "Color Picker" and choose a bright neon color that clashes with -- but doesn't override -- the text color. Click anywhere on the background of the flier to fill it with a background color. You can also do light text on a dark background or the reverse. Skip this step if you're printing on already-colored paper.
-
7
Click the "File" menu. Click "Save As." Choose a place to save the flier, such as the desktop or your Photoshop publication folder, and click the "Save" button.
