How to Create an Instant Reply Email Using Google Apps

Instant reply emails, also called auto-reply messages, are messages that are automatically sent from your email address to someone who sends you an email message. Auto-reply messages are usually sent when a person goes on vacation or is expected to be away from the office for an extended period of time. If you need to set such a message up inside Google Apps, you can do so in just a few steps.

      Log in to your Google Apps email account at mail.google.com/a/yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is the domain name of your company.

      Click the gear icon at the top-right corner of the screen and then click "Mail Settings."

      Scroll down to the "Vacation Autoresponder" section and click the radio button next to "Vacation Responder On."

      Enter a subject for your automatic response email in the "Subject" field and then enter an autoresponse message in the "Message" field.

      Click the "Save changes" button. Your instant reply email is now activated.
