Log into your Tumblr account with your email address and password.

Click "Text" on the main dashboard that appears once you log in. This is located along the top menu bar.

Type the information in the box. Use the toolbar to add any photos, videos or other media and files you wish to share with your readers.

Type hashtags relevant to the event in the "tags" box on the right. A hashtag is typed as "#" followed by the name of the event. For example, if you are live blogging about American Idol use hashtags such as "#AmericanIdol," "#RyanSeacrest," "#AI," or "#Fox."

Click "Publish" when you are done blogging. This will send your blog to all your followers.
