How to Use Pogo With a Mac
Using Pogo for game playing can range from easy to impossible when you access the site with a Mac. Although Pogo PC platform games allow you to play, as of 2011, a wide range of general games as well as 22 Mac-based games, your computer must meet some prerequisites and with some, a Mac simply will not work. With the right game and a Mac that meets Pogo requirements, however, you can use Pogo with a Mac just as you do with a PC having a Windows-based operating system.

Identify your Mac operating system. If it is any version prior to Mac OS X 10.4.8, you cannot use Pogo with your Mac.

Run the Apple Software Updater on your computer to make sure you not only have the Java for Mac program, but also the newest version of the software. Click the Apple on the upper left side of the screen, select "System Update" and finally, "Update Now." Follow on-screen instructions to either install or update your Java for Mac program.

Clear your Internet browser and Java cache regularly to prevent temporary Internet files from causing System Out of Memory Errors. Clear your browser cache by clicking "Empty Cache" from the upper left corner of the Safari main menu. Clear your Java cache by accessing Java Preferences via the Spotlight search bar. Type "Java Preferences" in the search bar, select the “Top Hit” -- or Java Preferences -- and when the preferences window opens, select “Delete Files” from the Temporary Internet Files section -- the bottom section of the window. Click "Save" and exit the Java Preferences window.

Use Pogo only when playing games online. You cannot use downloadable versions of Pogo games on a Mac.

Tips & Warnings
Although you can try it, expect problems if you decide to play a Pogo PC-based game called “Thousand Island Solitaire.” Although Pogo does not provide specifics, the company says this game is incompatible with some Mac computers (Reference 3).
