How to Keep Eye Makeup From Sliding Off
Eye makeup, like the rest of your makeup, can have a tendency to slide out of place at times. This is usually caused by excessive sweating, like after an intense workout or during the summer heat. The solution is to wear as minimal eye makeup as possible. For days when you still need to apply eye makeup, however, there are a few ways you can prevent sliding. A couple of products are useful for holding eye makeup steady and the type of product you choose will also affect your eye makeup’s staying power. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Apply an eye primer before adding eye shadow or eyeliner. The primer helps your eye makeup go on smoothly and creates a base for the makeup to latch onto. With the primer base, your eye makeup won’t move around in the heat.
-
2
Use powder eye shadow and pencil eye liner. Cream shadows and liquid liners have a tendency to melt in the heat, causing them to slide off your eyes and cause an eye makeup buildup in the creases. The powder and pencil products are dry and stay in place.

Stick to waterproof mascara. Waterproof mascara isn’t as affected by heat or perspiration and won’t rub off, which causes smudges under your eyes.

Tips & Warnings
If you don’t want to invest in an eye primer, dab a small amount of foundation over your eyelids for a similar effect.
You can also apply a single coat of waterproof mascara over regular mascara if you don’t want to completely switch products.
Try to go without eye makeup or as minimal as possible when exercising. The makeup can clog your pores during your workout leading to breakouts.
