How to Hook Up an Internet Capable TV
Several television models come with Internet adapters, allowing you to access video-on-demand services and Web applications. Connecting your TV to the Internet can keep the device updated with the latest firmware and software through the automatic online software update service. Some TV models include wireless adapters for connecting to the Internet through a Wi-Fi connection, while others require hard-wiring to your Internet router with an Ethernet cable.

Turn on your TV. Press the “Menu” key on the remote control.

Press the directional arrow keys on the remote to go to the on-screen "Setup," “Network” or “Network Settings” menu. Press the“OK” or “Enter” button on the remote to select on option.

Scroll down the list of available wireless Wi-Fi networks. Find your Wi-Fi network, labeled with your wireless router name, or the network name you assigned when you first set up the home network. Select your network.

Enter the network security password into the input box. Use the alpha-numeric keys on the remote to enter the network name. Press the “OK” button. This connects your TV to your home network, and to the Internet.

Plug one end of an Ethernet cable into an open Local Area Network(LAN) port on the back of the router. Insert the other end into the “LAN” or “Network” port on the rear or side panel of your TV.

Power on the TV. The TV should automatically detect the network and connect to the Internet. You won’t need to enter a network password with a wired connection.

Press the “Menu” key on the remote.

Go to “Network” or “Network Settings.” Scroll to “Connection Status” or “Connection” and select this option. If the status display shows “Connected,” your TV is connected to the Internet. If the status indicates that the TV is not connected, check your router's settings, and check that you are receiving a signal from your Internet service provider.

Tips & Warnings
If you have trouble connecting through a Wi-Fi connection, relocate your wireless router so that it is closer to your TV.
