Swag holders create soft and simple window treatments.

A tulip swag holder is an adjustable bracket that is mounted to the wall above window trim. The face of the holder is shaped like a fancy U with the arms curling like a tulip. This style of holder is used to create balloon or flower knobs out of the swag fabric used for the window treatment. The swag holder is not designed to be visible when the swag is properly arranged. Instructions

    • 1

Separate the tulip face from the mounting bracket. The two pieces slide apart in the center. Usually there is a stop screw that you need to unscrew.

    • 2

Position the bracket so that the slide is at the bottom of the bracket. The upright portion of the bracket has two screw holes. Place the bracket diagonally and 4 inches away from the corner of the top window casing.

    • 3

Screw the bracket into wall anchors using a screwdriver if your screw doesn't touch a stud. Repeat for the second corner. You can add additional swag holders around arch top windows. Evenly space your holders at least 24 inches apart so that your fabric rosettes will not crowd each other.

    • 4

Slide the two pieces of the swag holder together, and then screw in the set screw. Adjust your swag holder to the distance you want away from the wall surface. Tighten your screw.

Tips & Warnings

  • Drape your fabric evenly among your swag holders. Pull extra fabric through the tulip, and use the tulip and floral wire to create rosettes over the face of the tulip. Start in the center of your treatment with equal fabric on each side, and work toward the sides.
