Blogspot sites are free to manage.

Blogspot sites are hosted by Blogger.com, and give you a space to share your thoughts in a personal blog. Personalize your blog by choosing a template that matches your personality. Many templates allow you to substitute a default image for one of your own. The toolbar at the top of each blog post lets you further personalize your posts by changing the font and text color, and adding links. Use the text background color feature to create a highlighted look to a sentence in your post.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to your Blogger dashboard and click the blue "New Post" button to begin a new blog post. If you want to add highlighted text to an existing post, click on the "Edit Posts" link on your dashboard and then "Edit" next to the post you want to alter.

    • 2

Click and hold down on your mouse immediately to the left of the first word you want to highlight. Drag your mouse to the right to select the sentence, and then release your mouse button. The text will be temporarily highlighted with your computer's highlighter color, letting you know it has been selected.

    • 3

Click on the "Compose" tab of the editing toolbar and select the "Text background color" tool. The tool is represented by an icon of a highlighter pen, and is located immediately to the right of the "Text color" tool.

    • 4

Choose a color from the "Text background color" menu; clicking once on a color swatch will select it. The color is immediately placed behind the text that you previously highlighted with your mouse. Click anywhere else in the blog field to see the newly highlighted text.
