How to Make Your Own Toasting Flutes With Rhinestones
Getting married is an expensive business. You've got the dress, the venue, the entertainment, the decorations and all the little odds and ends, which add up to a gasp-inducing bill. But you can whittle that bill down little by little by putting your creativity to work. Rather than buying expensive crystal-encrusted toasting flutes for your banquet speeches, try your hand at a do-it-yourself alternative that could save you a bundle.
Things You'll Need
- Tape measure
- Scissors
- Pencil and paper
- Glass or plastic champagne glasses
- Hot glue gun
- Rhinestones with one flat side
- Butter knife
Instructions

1
Measure the height and circumference of the flute of the champagne glass. Cut a piece of paper so its dimensions are flute height by flute circumference.
-
2
Sketch out the pattern you want to create with rhinestones on the paper.
-
-
3
Roll the paper, sketch facing out, and insert it into your champagne flute. This is your stencil.
-
4
Apply the rhinestones one by one to the flute with your hot glue gun, following the pattern you created. Use only one small dot of glue on the back of each rhinestone and press hard to apply it. Allow all of the glue to dry completely.
-
5
Use a butter knife to carefully scrape off any excess glue.
