How to Customize Desk Organizers
If you're like most people, you probably have a fairly messy desk. Customizing a desk organizer is the solution to this problem. With a custom desk organizer, your desk can finally benefit from the cleanliness and organization you've been meaning to "get around to."
Things You'll Need
- VHS sleeves
- Tacky glue
- Decorative gift wrap
- Scissors
- Self-laminating sheets
- Sponge brush
- Hole punch
- Ribbon
- Hot glue gun
- Hot glue stick
- 4 large beads
Instructions
-
-
1
Line up the insert notches of the video tape sleeves and glue them together with tacky glue.
-
2
Allow the glue to dry. Wrap the exterior of the video sleeves in decorative gift wrap to measure how much wrap you will use. Cut the wrap with scissors and apply a sheet of clear self-lamination on top of the decorative wrap.
-
-
3
Sponge brush the tacky glue over the outside surface of the VHS sleeves. Wrap the laminated decorative paper around the exterior of the VHS sleeves. Use the scissors to trim around the edges as needed.
-
4
Punch holes every inch around the top of the VHS sleeves.
-
5
Weave the ends of the ribbon around each hole in the top edge. Start by pulling one end in the left and pulling the other end in the right until they meet in the middle. Tie the ends of the ribbon in a bow.
-
6
Plug the glue gun into an electric outlet and allow it to heat up. Insert a glue stick into the back of the gun and gather the four large beads. Squeeze the trigger of the gun slightly and touch the tip to a piece of paper to test that the glue is melted.
-
7
Apply glue to the beads one by one and hold each against the bottom of your custom desk organizer for 15 seconds or until it holds in place. Repeat for each of the beads, gluing one in each corner of the organizer.
