How to Make Rainbow Art for a Wall
Arraying the full spectrum visible to human eyes, rainbows lift our spirits when they appear on a rainy day. They are symbols of promise, diversity and hope. Adding rainbow art to your wall can be as direct as painting red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple (or indigo and violet) on a canvas or as subtle as hanging tinted photographs. One inexpensive and quick way to create art is to make a paint chip mosaic. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Clean the glass for the picture frame. Prime or paint wood, if using. For photo frame, remove backing and glass, cutting a sheet of card stock to cover the backing, if desired.
-
2
Use scissors to change the size and shape of your pieces. Arrange paint chips or other materials in a rainbow pattern on the backing. Do not be afraid to overlap or layer the colors for the best look. Cut down any pieces as necessary for a proper fit.

White glue may cause your color pieces to warp. Secure color pieces to the backing using spray adhesive or glue stick.
-
4
Let your project dry before hanging it. Allow glue to dry before framing your artwork, if using frame. If using a wood piece, cover colors with Mod Podge as directed on packaging to achieve a smooth surface, allowing it to dry overnight.

Stain will fill in the cracks, defining details. Rub stain onto wood-backed piece with the clean rag, if desired.
