How to Hide a Subwoofer in a Closet
Subwoofers add a sense of power and impact to your sound system since they emphasize the lower-frequency sounds that come from both bass guitars and drums. They are also useful when watching movies because they enhance the sound of explosions and other special effects. Subwoofers are sometimes bulky and they can be eyesores in a room. Hiding a subwoofer in a closet is one answer but care is needed to keep the subwoofer functional. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Clear enough space in the closet so the subwoofer fits inside comfortably. Leave at least a foot or two of empty space on the side the sound comes out so that the subwoofer operates optimally, without getting its sound absorbed. The closet should have a power outlet nearby to plug the subwoofer into.

2
Run the wires from the subwoofer under your carpeting and over to your sound system. This keeps the wires out of sight. Keep them as close to the side of the room as possible so the wires don't get stepped on. If your room doesn't have a carpet, either tape the wires to the baseboard of the room or get a throw rug that hides the wiring effectively.

Plug the wires into the sound system once you have them secured to the floor or baseboard. Open the closet door when the subwoofer is in use to get the best effect out of it, but it still functions with the door closed, albeit with the closet door absorbing some of the sound.
