A General Electric oven that cycles on and off on its own was previously configured to have Sabbath mode enabled. The Sabbath mode -- designed for those who don't operate machines on the Sabbath -- programs the oven to begin at a specific time to and to remain on until the programmed shut-off time. The Sabbath mode on the GE oven is intended for cooking meals at a specific time, and requires manual cancellation to prevent the oven from unexpectedly starting the cooking process.       Press "Range Lockout" on the front of the range's control panel. Touch "Start" to unlock the range's control panel lock.

      Push "Clear/Off" on the control panel if the oven is currently off. If the oven is currently on, wait for the oven to pause for up to one minute during Sabbath mode before pressing "Clear/Off."

      Hold "Bake" and "Broil Hi/Lo" until "SF" is displayed on the control panel's LCD screen.

      Touch "Delay Start" on the control panel until "12 shdn" appears on the screen. Push "Start" to exit the oven's Sabbath feature.
