How to Decorate a Church Door
Decorating the door of a church can add some liveliness to an often sacred place. Since there are so many different events that take place at a church, the decoration ideas that will work are many. For special occasions, think about the colors and decorations that are often associated with those occasions. Whether you are using the door for information or for simple themes, decorating it can be fun and can help the congregation get into the sprint of the season.

1
Place seasonal flowers on the church door. Attach them by using a piece of plastic foam taped to the door. Stick the stems of the flowers in the foam in bunches to cover the foam as well. Use real or fake flowers, but choose them according to the season, with fall perfect for yellow and orange flowers; spring, pink and blue flowers; and red flowers for winter.

2
Use letter-shaped flower bouquets for a wedding as door decorations. Use the initials of both the bride and groom and have them choose special flowers that match their wedding theme. Use ribbons and bows that compliment the flowers chosen for extra flair. Use double-sided tape to attach the plastic foam after adding the decorations to each letter of each set of initials. Place the groom's initials on the groom's side and the bride's initials on her side.

Place pictures of the children from Sunday school on the door. The congregation normally has a large population of children to celebrate, so place individual pictures of the children on the door. Place the pictures on the side of the door that will face out when opened so that people can admire them when the doors are open as well. Use double-sided tape so that they can be easily removed.

Place fundraising information on the church door as decoration. Include the fundraising information on one side including any pictures if you have any from past fundraising events and a chart of how much you have raised so far with a clear, marked goal that you plan to reach. Placing it on the door will remind your congregation to give as much as possible and will also allow them to find out the dates of future fundraising events.

Place Christmas decorations on the door of the church. Include a wreath as well as a Christmas tree. Write some Christmas-related scripture quotes on Christmas-colored construction paper and add those to the door as well. Creating a Christmas door will get the congregation into the spirit of giving. Note any special Christmas events on the door as well so that the congregation can see them and plan accordingly. Wrap the entire door with shiny red wrapping paper as a base for the theme of your door.
