The options available for grooming thick eyebrows are essentially the same for both genders, with the major difference being that men tend to have more hair and prefer not to have their brows arched or thinned down too much. Instructions

    • 1

Comb through your eyebrows in the direction of hair growth using the comb side of the eyebrow brush/comb, and then gently brush them into the shape of a neat, tidy arch using the brush side. This will neaten up your appearance without making any permanent alterations.

    • 2

Apply eyebrow gel to your entire eyebrow, using the brush applicator that comes with the brow gel. Brow gel is similar to clear mascara. If your eyebrows are thick but not excessively bushy, you can use the gel and brush to arrange the hairs in the desired shape. If they are bushy, use the comb side of the eyebrow brush/comb to help you with the grooming. The gel will tame and flatten the eyebrow hairs, and when it sets, it will keep them in the neat, groomed manner in which you have arranged them. This is a good grooming option for men with thick eyebrows as no hair removal is involved.

    • 3

Place an eyebrow shaping form around your brows and draw an outline with the eyebrow pencil. This will serve as a guide for grooming eyebrows by one of the hair removal methods, but is optional if you can confidently remove hair and retain a natural looking shape.

    • 4

Pluck excess and stray hairs from your eyebrow with the tweezers to shape and thin the brow. Pluck from the underside of the brow. Follow your natural arch and be careful to maintain the natural shape of your brow. Do not overpluck. Try to maintain a similar shape and thickness on both brows.

    • 5

Shave any excess or stray hairs from the underside and top side of your eyebrows with the eyebrow razor. You can also use the razor to shave a unibrow or any excessive hair growth between your brows.

    • 6

Remove hairs, thin and shape the brows by waxing off the unwanted eyebrow hairs. You can use eyebrow shaping or waxing strips, or use cotton strips with warm wax. This is one of the most effective and efficient methods of grooming thick eyebrows, as it will remove large amounts of hair by the roots with minimal pain.

    • 7

Shape the eyebrows and remove excess hair by threading them off with a length of cotton thread. You need to stretch the thread taut and then rub it vigorously over the hair and skin. The hairs will become entangled in the thread and a combination of pressure and friction will pull them out by the roots.

Tips & Warnings

  • Clean your eyebrows and tweezers with cotton balls soaked with alcohol prior to tweezing.
