How to Get Darkrai in SS Without Cheats

Darkrai inflicts never-ending nightmares on its victims.

Available in "Pokemon Diamond," "Pokemon Pearl" and "Pokemon Platinum" for the Nintendo DS, the legendary Pokemon Darkrai can only be caught legitimately after attending a Nintendo-sponsored Pokemon event. Since these events are rare, most players opt to use cheat codes to get Darkrai. If you do not want to use cheat codes, you might have a difficult time getting Darkrai in "Pokemon SoulSilver."

Instructions

1. Find someone who owns a legitimate Darkrai and negotiate a trade. You can check various Pokemon forums for someone offering a Darkrai, or find a friend who attended a Darkrai Pokemon event.

2. Connect your Nintendo DS to your friend's system, or access the Internet using the Nintendo DS Wi-Fi functionality.

3. Enter the second floor of any Pokemon Center in "Pokemon SoulSilver."

4. Access the trade system and connect to your trade partner using his or her friend code. Each "Pokemon" player is assigned a permanent friend code after connecting to the Internet with any Nintendo DS game.

5. Complete the trade to receive your cheat-free Darkrai.

Tips & Warnings

• Consider catching one of the "Pokemon SoulSilver" legendary Pokemon to offer for trade for a Darkrai. Since the Darkrai is so highly sought after, you should offer something equally sought after in return.
